This programme is designed to kick-start your career and provide the necessary skills and techniques for you to become a qualified hairdresser. By completing this course, you will develop transferrable skills that are essential for working within the industry or will provide a stepping-stone to undertake further training.
The course covers the following areas:
- health, safety and hygiene
- client consultation for hair services
- shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
- cut women’s hair
- scalp massage.
You will need to have a good level of English and maths skills.
Assessments are continuous throughout the course in the form of assignments and practical observations.
Upon successful completion you may be able to progress to the Level 2 in Women’s Hairdressing or Level 2 Barbering courses at the College.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2019/20 (August 2019 – July 2020). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2020/21.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
