Our hairdressing course will get you into your dream job as a hairdresser! If you can put people at ease, like being creative and have loads of patience, then you’ve got a good head start in the skills that you’ll need to make a success of a career in hairdressing. Our City & Guilds technical certificate will provide a thorough grounding in the theory and practice with external visits and competitions to help you find the self-assurance and competence to pursue a career in the hairdressing industry. In order to participate fully within your course, you will need to purchase a kit and uniform. Details available at interview.
You will study:
- health and safety in the salon
- client care and communication
- promotion and sales
- cutting techniques.
In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need the following:
- four GCSEs at grades 3-1 (D-F) including English and maths
- equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.
You will be assessed continuously for progress and achievement by practical observation, external online tests and assignments.
On successful completion you may progress to the level three hairdressing course at the College.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2017/18 (August 2017 – July 2018). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2018/19.
