Course information

The course covers:

  • understanding equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care 

  • the person centered approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia 

  • dementia awareness

  • understanding the factors that can influence communication and interaction with individuals who have dementia.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course. 

This qualification is assessed via an internally assessed and externally quality assured portfolio of evidence.

Upon successful completion, you may progress to a Level 2 Dementia course at the College.
