What's it all about?

By completing this course, you will obtain two qualifications – one in digital skills and a second qualification in employability skills.

This course will help you with using a variety of digital technologies such as smartphones, using the internet or making purchases online.

It will also help you to prepare for the future by planning for possible further study, as well as helping to improve your budgeting skills so you can understand how to manage your personal finances.

Course information

OCN Entry Level 3 Essential Digital Skills

  • AP1 – How to use a smartphone.
  • AP2 – Using the internet – for browsing and getting in touch with others.
  • AP3 – Using the Internet – for online services and making purchases.
  • AP4 – Creating, editing and storing documents; staying safe.
  • AP5 – Digital technical problems; digital health and safety.

 

City and Guilds Level 1 Award in Employability

  • Planning for personal progression.
  • Managing personal finances.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course.

The OCN Entry Level 3 Essential Digital Skills qualification is assessed by:

  • three simulated tasks
  • one knowledge based assessment
  • one practical assessment.

 

The City and Guilds Level 1 Award in Employability Skills is assessed by:

  • two workbook completed assignments.

Upon successful completion of this course you may progress into further education or employment.
