City College Plymouth’s level 3 qualification is aimed at students who have already completed the level 2 diploma and and will provide you with the skills and experience you need to continue working towards becoming a qualified electrician.
This course covers numerous topics designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of the underpinning knowledge to safely and confidently work in the industry. You will also developed more advanced skills than those acquired on the level 2 course.
This course will cover the following:
- inspection and testing
- fault diagnosis
- electrical systems design
- environmental technology systems
- health and safety.
City College strives to give you the skills you need now and in the future, with up-to-date courses taking into account new and developing technologies.
You will need to have the following qualifications to be accepted onto this course:
- a GCSE in maths at grade 4 (C) or above
- level 2 qualification in a construction related subect.
You’ll be required to take some practical assessments and exams.
On successful completion of this course you may wish to enter employment or continue your development via an Apprenticeship.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2022/23 (August 2022 – July 2023). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2023/24.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
