You will study a broad range of sector specific units giving you a good foundation for a career in engineering. The range of units covered will enable you to progress onto an Apprenticeship or further study within any engineering sector.
The course covers: investigating the engineered world and products; interpreting engineering information; mathematics for engineers; health and safety; and a range of units covering computer aided engineering, maintenance and materials.
You will need to have a grade 3 in GCSE English, Maths and Science.
The course includes two externally assessed (examined) units and the rest are internally assessed through a range of written assignments, presentations, skills observations and team work exercises.
On successful completion and improving English and Maths GCSEs to grade 4 or higher, you will be able to progress to the BTEC Level 3 Foundation and Extended Diploma Courses in Advanced Engineering course.
