This qualification is designed to cover the skills and knowledge of a wide variety of engineering technical support activities such as engineering drawing, inspection and testing and technical services.
The primary purpose of this qualification is to confirm occupational competence in a specific job role. The achievement of NVQs will encourage an employee to value their contribution to the workplace, and it will develop skills and potential within the field of engineering technical support. The qualification has three pathways linked to typical job roles:
- engineering drawing
- inspection and testing
- technical services.
You must either be in employment or an apprentice within the engineering sector.
The qualification is assessed by:
- holistic assessment
- portfolio of evidence
- verbal questioning
- witness testimony
- knowledge and understanding.
On completion of this qualification it can form part of an Apprenticeship framework at level 3, providing a base for other level 3 qualifications, and progression to a range of level 4 qualifications and also career progression.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2019/20 (August 2019 – July 2020). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2020/21.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
