If you have been working in engineering for a few years and have a good skill-set in your role but wish to develop, this is a great course to demonstrate your current knowledge and further your competency.
This course develops understanding in:
- complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
- using and interpreting engineering data and documentation
- working efficiently and effectively in engineering.
Completion of a level 2 course in a related field is essential. It is also recommended that you are experienced working in an engineering based role requiring you to demonstrate fabrication and welding skills.
A portfolio of evidence will be submitted for assessment and there are no formal examinations.
Following completion of the level 3 course, there is the opportunity progress in a wide range of fabrication and welding engineering roles including:
- plater/fabricator
- sheet metal worker
- steel erector/fabricator
- welder.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2020/21 (August 2020 – July 2021). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2021/22.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
