About the course

If you are currently working in engineering and have some knowledge and skills in the industry, this is a great course to demonstrate and be awarded a qualification for your competence in joining, welding and forming of materials.

What you'll learn

This course develops understanding in:

  • complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
  • using and interpreting engineering data and documentation
  • working efficiently and effectively in engineering.
Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, it is recommended that you have some experience working in an engineering based role with basic fabrication and welding skills.

Assessments/Exams

A portfolio of evidence will be submitted for assessment and there are no formal examinations.

What's next?

Following completion of the Level 2 course, there is the opportunity to join a Level 3 course or progress in a wide range of fabrication and welding engineering roles including:

  • plater/fabricator
  • sheet metal worker
  • steel erector/fabricator
  • welder.
