Are you thinking about becoming a hairdresser, stylist, beautician, or beauty therapist? This level 1 qualification will give you an in-depth introduction to the hair and beauty sector. It provides a fun and inspirational insight into the industry and will build on your skills to allow you to progress to the next level.
You will learn hair and beauty skills such as shampooing and styling women’s hair, applying basic make-up, and skin and hand care.
The course will require you to gain work experience within the industry.
Maths and English will also be part of your study programme.
You will need to undergo an initial assessment, but there are no specific entry requirements for this course.
You will be assessed by written assessments, assignments and tests.
On successful completion you may progress to a range of level 2 hairdressing or beauty therapy courses at the College or gain and Apprenticeship in the industry.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2022/23 (August 2022 – July 2023). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2023/24.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
