Are you a HR officer, personnel assistant or HR administrator looking to develop your career in HR and personnel management? This level 3 Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Certificate in Human Resources Practice is the first level qualification for people employed in HR at an operational level. It is suitable for anyone working as a Personnel Assistant or Personnel Officer or aspiring to a career in human resources. Students have come from a wide variety of backgrounds including school secretaries, practice managers in doctors, dentist surgeries and those already employed in HR as administrators. This course is also ideal for managers who want to gain personnel practitioner skills. This certificate is an evening course, studied one evening per week over a full academic year. It will introduce you to a wide variety of practical tools and techniques to successfully manage all the people issues in a modern workplace.
The modules of the course include:
- understanding organisations and the role of human resources
- developing yourself as an effective HR practitioner
- recording, analysing and using HR information
- supporting good practice in managing employment relations
- resourcing talent
- supporting good practice in performance and reward management.
In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need to have a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
Candidates not currently employed in a HR role must have access to an organisation and its human resource functions.
Assessment is via a range of methods, including written assignments and skills tests.
Successful students may progress to the CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Management at the College, as well as achieving their automatic upgrade to Associate CIPD membership.
