The aim of this qualification is to provide those who already possess a valid fitness instructor qualification with the additional knowledge, understanding and skills required to plan and instruct group circuit training sessions.
The course covers the following areas:
- methods of collecting participant information
- principles of screening participants prior to exercise including the use of the physical activity readiness questionnaire (par-q)
- how to use participant information to assist with the planning of safe and effective group circuit training sessions
- how to use music to enhance group circuit training sessions.
You will need to hold a level 2 fitness instructor qualification and level 1 qualifications in English and maths.
You will be assessed via coursework, assessments and a practical examination.
Upon successful completion you may progress to a level 3 qualification in physical fitness, such as the Instructing Outdoor Fitness award at the College.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2020/21 (August 2020 – July 2021). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2021/22.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
