The aim of this qualification is to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to design and deliver safe and effective fitness training sessions to groups of participants in outdoor environments.
The course covers the following areas:
- the considerations involved in working with groups in outdoor environments
- planning a range of exercises relevant to groups of participants outdoors, using body weight, environment, and small equipment
- planning appropriate exercise sessions, taking into account the opportunities and limitations presented by the environment
- instructing safe and effective group exercise sessions in outdoor environments.
You will need to hold a YMCA Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing or equivalent.
You will be assessed via a practical examination.
Upon successful completion you may progress to the YMCA Level 3 Award in Sports Conditioning.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2020/21 (August 2020 – July 2021). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2021/22.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
