Are you thinking about becoming a hairdresser, stylist, beautician, or beauty therapist? This level 2 VRQ City & Guilds qualification at City College Plymouth will give you an in-depth introduction to the hair and beauty sector. You’ll learn some basic employability skills such as how to present yourself with a professional image, as well as learning some hair and beauty basics such as styling women’s hair, applying basic make-up, nail art, skin care and the art of dressing hair. This full-time, one year hair and beauty course provides a fun and inspirational insight into the industry and teaches all the basic skills required to progress to the next level.

You will need to have:
- four GCSEs at grades D-F (3-1), preferably to include a science-based subject
- a level 1 qualification in hair and beauty
- customer service experience
- good personal presentation.
You will be assessed by written assessments, assignments and tests.
On successful completion you may progress to another hair and beauty course at the College.
