This is the course for you if you would love to work behind the scenes in the entertainment and events business. From rigging for theatre shows, to creating the soundscape for corporate events, from lighting a catwalk, to prepping for dance shows, you will learn all the skills you need to work within this demanding but very rewarding industry. You’ll be working on real life shows very early on in your course and will continue to do so throughout your time with us. It’s one of the few courses in the country where you can learn these skills.

- introduction to live sound
- introduction to visual production
- technical practices
- live event production
- production planning and realisation
- professional development
- modern live sound
- lighting design skills
- modern visual production
- contextual development
- research skills
- major live project.
We welcome applications from those who have the following:
- 64 UCAS tariff points (to include a full level 3 qualification) or a T Level pass in an appropriate subject area
- five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, to include English and maths
or alternatively:
- equivalent qualifications
- relevant work experience.
Should entry requirements not be met then individual cases will be considered.
You may also be required to attend an interview.
International students will be expected to meet the English language requirements of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent and have the equivalent of the above level 3 qualifications or professional experience.
You will be assessed primarily through coursework.
Upon successful completion you may progress to the BA (Hons) Live Events Production top-up degree at the College.
The skills you will learn from this course will enable you to pursue a career in event management. Many of our students have successfully gone onto careers, working with leading industry figures including Tokio Myers and at the Royal Opera House.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2022/23 (August 2022 – July 2023). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2023/24.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
