Do you work in an engineering installation role? If so, City College Plymouth offers the opportunity to complete the NVQ in Maintenance and Installation Engineering. This nationally recognised level 2 engineering training is ideal if you wish to gain recognition of your competence in a wide variety of engineering maintenance and installation activities. All assessment is undertaken in your workplace and is flexible to suit the needs of you and your employer. Your work situation will be required to provide the opportunity to be involved in a range of engineering maintenance and installation activities. You will choose a pathway relevant to your job role, specialising in one of the following: mechanical, electrical, electronic, fluid power, services, communication electronics, stairlifts, service lifts, equipment installation or installing/servicing lifting platforms.
To gain the award, you must complete one of the following pathways: mechanical, electrical, electronic, fluid power, services, communication electronics, stairlifts, service lifts, equipment installation or installing/servicing lifting platforms.
You must be employed in an engineering installation role.
Assessment is undertaken in your workplace. There are no formal examinations, but you will be required to generate a portfolio of evidence under the guidance of an experienced assessor.
You may be able to progress to the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Maintenance Engineering offered at the College.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2018/19 (August 2018 – July 2019). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2019/20.
