These ‘stepping stones’ qualifications will allow you to explore the concepts of averages and probability and how this relates to real life and the world of work. These key skills will help you to consolidate some of the content in the Functional Skills and GCSE syllabuses prior to starting these qualifications.
You must choose to enrol on either the Level 1 Award in Handling Data – Probability or the Level 1 Award in Handling Data – Mean and Range. There will be an opportunity to complete both awards should you wish. Each award has a recommendation of ten guided learning hours but you can complete the work at your own pace. All delivery is carried out through our virtual learning environment with instructive videos and remote correspondence with our maths lecturers.
There are no entry requirements for this course but only those without a GCSE grade C/4 or above in maths will be eligible to undertake this course for free.
This course is only suitable for students aged 19+.
You must complete the online modules and the accompanying workbook.
You will be given the opportunity to progress to the next level of maths learning with the College.
