It is designed to give you the practical skills for welding specific joints and the knowledge to understand welding safety, machinery set-up and welding terminology. This particular welding qualification focuses on Metal Inert Gas welding (known as MIG welding).
The course involves mainly practical sessions which will give you the skills to tackle the five welding tests to the given standard. The element of theory involved will enable you to answer the verbal questions on welding health and safety and your chosen welding process.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course.
Five practical skills tests and verbal questioning are used for the award of this certificate.
On successful completion of the course you will be offered the opportunity to progress to the level 2 welding course.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2017/18 (August 2017 – July 2018). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2018/19.
