If you want to turn your passion for motorbikes into a career, this qualification will provide you with a thorough set of skills that will see you roaring towards success.
The course is perfectly designed to strategically build upon the knowledge you gained from the level 1 qualification, and you will acquire more advanced skills that are linked to electrical and electronic systems. Like the level 1 course, you will learn by doing and you will get your hands on more complex and powerful bikes, giving you a full and comprehensive set of diagnostic and maintenance skills.
Over the course of a year, you will develop your skills and knowledge in relation to the following:
- importance of health and safety
- correct tools and materials
- customer service
- motorcycle construction
- routine maintenance
- principles of motorcycle engines
- brakes, tyres and suspension systems
- electrical and electronic systems
- assembly of brand-new motorbikes
- communication with customers and suppliers.
In our experience, to be successful on this course you will need to have completed the Level 1 Motorcycle Maintenance Diploma and have gained a grade 4/C or above in GCSE maths and English or an equivalent level 2 qualification in English/maths.
You will be assessed through a variety of practical tasks and assessments, and paper exams.
Successful completing of this course can lead to employment as a motorcycle technician or progression to a level 3 Apprenticeship.
