Do you want to get into music performance but don’t know where to start? This 12 week course is for you. You’ll work on your performance and rehearsal skills while practising for a gig at the end of the programme, all the while developing your technical skills. This course is the place to start your career as a musician.
This course contains the following subjects:
- introduction to music performance
- rehearsal skills
- lyric writing
- stage presence.
You will need to be able to play an instrument to a basic level. GCSE English at a grade 1 or above is required as well as an enthusiasm to learn and engage with your peers.
No – the assessment will be coursework based.
On successful completion of this course, you can move on to the full level 2 course at the College the following year. You may also wish to take the study skills you have gained and use them within another level 2 course at the College.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2018/19 (August 2018 – July 2019). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2019/20.
