About the course

Are you a painter or decorator looking for training that will help you advance in the construction industry, or expand your business if you are self-employed? This CSkills Level 3 Diploma in Painting and Decorating at City College Plymouth will enable you to further develop your skills to work at an advanced level in industry. You will learn various traditional and modern techniques in paint application, specialist wall coverings and decorative finishing. The study programme consists of 80% practical-based activities in the College’s modern and extremely well resourced workshop facility. You will complete a variety of practical activities covering health and safety, information, quantities and communicating with others, building methods and construction technology, preparing surfaces, applying paint systems by brush and roller, applying paint systems by airless spray method, hanging specialist wall coverings, access equipment, and applying specialist craft finishes.

Entry requirements

Four to five GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C) (including English and maths) and a level 2 diploma.
