This course is designed to provide you with the introductory skills and knowledge that is required to begin a career in the fitness industry as a qualified personal trainer.
The course involves a variety of theoretical and practical units, which include:
- YMCA Gym Instructor
- YMCA Personal Trainer
- YMCA Kettlebells
- YMCA Circuit Training.
In order to be successful on this course you will be required to have:
- four GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English or maths
- a level 3 qualification in sport.
This course has elements of both theory and practical assessments.
The assessments vary from essays and presentations in the classroom, to working with members of the public in the College’s Sports Hall. The aim of all assessment methods is to ensure your skills are being developed, and that you have a chance to use them in the workplace.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2021/22 (August 2021 – July 2022). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2022/23.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
