This Pre-Access course is an introductory course for anyone wanting to return to study. It will give you a solid foundation in health, science and social sciences and introduce the core study skills to enable you to progress to studying at level 3 or improve your job prospects. We will also help you develop your employability and study skills so that, whatever you decide to do with your future, you’ll be prepared to get there.
The modules for this course are pending approval, but subjects will cover basic study skills and a range of topics in the fields of health, science and social sciences.
Ideally, you will have a level 1 qualification in English and maths. However, if you don’t have any formal qualifications, we still encourage you to apply as we can offer an initial assessment to determine your suitability for the course.
Assessment will be through a portfolio of evidence. There are no formal exams.
On successful completion of this course, you may wish to progress to one of the level 3 Access courses at the College.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2020/21 (August 2020 – July 2021). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2021/22.
If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees may not be applicable for your course. (Please note: this does not apply to Foundation Degrees or Access to Higher Education courses, and other courses not eligible for public funding.)
