What's it all about?

Are you an adult considering returning to education but know you need to update your English, maths or science? The Return To Learn package will give you what you need in addition to the academic skills and confidence you need to get the most out of future academic study.

Course information

This course will offer a gentle introduction to the world of academic study, focussing on personal development (confidence building and interpersonal skills); vocational development (time management skills) and academic skills (presentation, research, academic writing).

The purpose here is to develop the skills you need to feel confident and secure in your progression to further academic study, so a wide range of different skills will be practised and developed.

In order to be successful on this course, you must be an adult aged 18 years or older, who has achieved level 2 functional skills maths and English.

You may be hoping to continue to develop your academic skills with a view to progressing onto level 3 study.

Please note that there is also a shorter (six week) award (PAHS1) which can be taken alongside functional skills maths and/or English if you need to do this first.

Assessment will be through a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your progress.

Progression could be to an access to higher education diploma here at City College Plymouth or to any other suitable level three programme

Please note fees are quoted for one year only.
