What's it all about?

Fancy getting into science but have no background or formal qualifications?

Want to gain a better understanding of science so you can help your children with their homework? This short course will provide you with the perfect stepping-stone into laboratory work in biology or chemistry. You will need no prior knowledge of science and we will support your development in this growing industry.

Course information

The award offers you the opportunity to study a sector unit and plan for your next steps. You will complete the following two units: 

  • developing a personal progression plan 
  • exploring biology
    or
  • exploring chemistry.

Aimed at those who have applied to enrol on GCSE Biology or Chemistry in the next academic year or those looking to get back into education and have a focus on the Science world or industry.

The course is assessed by internally set coursework.
