About the course

Do you wonder how things work? Are you interested in the solar system and space exploration, how the human body works, or how to investigate a crime scene? If you’re interested in science then City College Plymouth is the place for you, thanks to this BTEC level 2 science course, named ‘Principles of Applied Science’. Remember, all great journeys begin with a single step and this course is for the curious and adventurous. If you are ready for the challenge and are interested in following a career in science, then this BTEC science qualification can help you to progress to advanced level at the College and onwards to study forensic, biomedical or marine science and conservation.

What's next?

Upon successful completion of this course, you may progress to our level 3 courses in applied science or marine science and conservation. Alternatively, you could enter employment within the broad science/medical industry.The typical sorts of employment opportunities include laboratory technician, environmental and health protection and roles involving sample analysis. You would also be prepared for the first steps in various professions: sports science, engineering, medicine, dentistry and animal health.
