Do you work with children or young people? Gain knowledge and understanding to safeguard children, young people and practitioners in the workplace. Find out how best to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused.
This two day course course is based on the National Occupational Standards for Promoting the Safeguarding of Children and Young People.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course; however, learners may already be working with children and young people or trying to obtain a role in the education or care sectors.
A workbook will be submitted for assessment and there are no formal examinations.
On successful completion you may progress to:
- another course at the College
- employment in a child development role
- initial teacher training for the education sector.
This qualification could lead to further learning to support the development of children and young people or into initial teacher training for the further education sector.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2017/18 (August 2017 – July 2018). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2018/19.
