Course information

During this course, you will undertake a series of modules designed to support the whole world of information gathering and data presentation. The course will see you take part in a variety of sports, but also various roles in these sports such as player, analyst, official and many more.

You will build a huge database of simple to complex data, and with the help of our expert lecturers will be able to identify strengths and weaknesses in various sports and performances.

This course has been designed to support those aspiring to move into the sports analyst job roles, or for those who want to test their skills and see how maths is used to support performance.

This new, level 2 course is perfect for school leavers with a passion for sport and an interest in data analysis.

You will study:

  • introduction to data analysis and the role of the data analyst
  • data collection, processing, preparation, and interpretation
  • communication and presentation of data
  • introduction to healthy exercise, nutrition, and sport participation
  • performance analysis for sport.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course. 

You will be assessed by various methods including presented work, logs of data and many more industry standard tasks. 

Upon successful completion of the course, you may progress onto our level 3 provision which offers an excellent varied Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports, or you can use your new data skills and abilities in our Sports, Exercise and Personal Training pathway.
