About the course

Plymouth delivers a wide range of events throughout the year and stewards are always required. This course will help you to develop key skills such as teamwork, interpersonal skills and coping strategies, to set you on track to become to prime steward.

What you'll learn

This course is comprised of four units and you will learn how to:

  • prepare for spectator events
  • control entry, exit and movement of spectators at events
  • monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events
  • respond to injuries, illness and emergencies in active leisure and learning.
Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are necessary to complete this qualification, only a good level of written and spoken English.

Assessments/Exams

This course is assessed by coursework.

What's next?

On successful completion of this course, you could go on to seek employment within organisations like Plymouth Argyle, Plymouth Albion or Plymouth City Council. You could also continue your learning and enrol on another course at the College.

Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2017/18 (August 2017 – July 2018). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2018/19.
