City College Plymouth offers the City & Guilds Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning – an ideal first qualification for anyone wishing to work in a school environment alongside the class teacher. This is a formal, recognised qualification for existing or aspiring school staff who will have a good working knowledge of the job from experience they gain on placement.
The certificate is completed through a variety of mandatory units.
In order to enrol on this course, you will need to have:
- a level 2 qualification in a childcare related subject
- a good level of numeracy and literacy
- a work placement arranged for a minimum of one year
- a clean CRB check
The certificate is gained through a mixture of workplace evidence and assignments which will build a portfolio that will be assessed by a College assessor.
On successful completion of this course, you may progress to a level 3 diploma or a Foundation Degree in a similar subject.
