About the course

The success of any meeting rests not only with an effective chairperson, but also on accurate records of the outcome and any actions required. This minute-taking workshop at City College Plymouth examines techniques for effective minute taking including presentation, accurate note taking and use of professional language and layout in the final minutes. The course is designed to provide minute-taking skills for anyone who is called to take formal minutes at a meeting. This popular workshop examines the role of the minute-taker and explores both the benefits of effective minutes, and the ramifications of poor minute-taking. Individuals will be shown a range of tools to give them confidence in their role, and the opportunity to practice these skills. This course is part of a range of short courses for business owners, existing and aspiring managers that can support you and your team gain skills, knowledge and confidence across a breadth of subjects. These courses are specifically designed to enable businesses to solve skills gaps for those in new posts, or up-dating skills for existing managers and supervisors. These skills are crucial in enabling your business to function effectively and remain competitive.
