The trainers and managers train the staff … but who trains them? This ‘train the trainer’ workshop at City College Plymouth is the perfect starting point for anyone responsible for the training and development of staff in the workplace. It is also well suited to anyone with little or no formal background in the delivery of training. This course is part of a range of short courses for business owners, and existing or aspiring managers that can support you and your team gain skills, knowledge and confidence across a breadth of subjects. These courses are specifically designed to enable businesses to solve skills gaps for those in new posts, or updating skills for existing managers and supervisors. These skills are crucial in enabling your business to function effectively and remain competitive.
The primary objective of this workshop is to develop the trainer’s knowledge of, and self-confidence in, information delivery techniques. Topics covered include:
- basic learning theories
- the training cycle
- how people learn
- becoming an effective trainer
- structure of a training session
- teaching styles
- methods of delivery
- being inclusive.
