This warehousing and storage Apprenticeship at City College Plymouth brings you the opportunity to work in a business which plays a crucial part in making this happen! As a warehousing and storage apprentice you will achieve valuable occupational competence within a warehousing and storage role. You will be employed and the majority of your training and learning will take place within your workplace. On completion of the Apprenticeship you will gain a suite of vocational qualifications which form part of the Apprenticeship framework – a great start to your career. Upon successful completion of this recognised level 2 qualification, you may progress into advanced Apprenticeships in team leading, logistics operations driving goods vehicles, or warehousing and storage. You could also choose to go into a variety of jobs in the warehousing industry.
As an apprentice you will gain valuable
experience and occupational competence within your workplace setting.
You will be employed and, under supervision, your job would working as a
Warehouse Operative. Working as part of a team, you may be required to
load/unload vehicles. You will also have delegated responsibility for
the correct selection and packing of customer orders, ensuring they are
ready for despatch on time.
You will need to achieve a minimum of 41 52 credits (dependent on
which qualification you will follow) from completing mandatory units and
a selection of optional units. The optional units will be decided in
negotiation with your assessor and employer and are based on your job
role with your organisation.
You will also have to complete functional skills level 1 in maths and
English, Employment Responsibilities and Rights and Personal Learning
and Thinking Skills.
Acceptance on this Apprenticeship is via initial assessment.
Assessment is continuous, both on and off the job.
On successful completion, you may wish to continue your studies by moving onto a higher level Apprenticeship or course. You could also benefit from greatly enhanced job opportunities, whether with your current employer or elsewhere.
Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2017/18 (August 2017 – July 2018). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2018/19.
