What's it all about?

The aim of this qualification is to provide those who already possess a valid fitness instructor qualification with the additional knowledge, understanding and skills required to plan and instruct group circuit training sessions.


This course is CIMPSPA recognised

Course information

The course covers the following areas:

  • methods of collecting participant information
  • principles of screening participants prior to exercise including the use of the physical activity readiness questionnaire (par-q)
  • how to use participant information to assist with the planning of safe and effective group circuit training sessions
  • how to use music to enhance group circuit training sessions.

You must hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification to do this course.

You will be assessed via a short assignment that combines both a practical and written element.

Upon successful completion you may progress to a level 3 qualification in physical fitness, such as the Instructing Outdoor Fitness award at the College.

This course would be appropriate as part of your yearly professional development requirement and you may wish to add to this by studying for additional qualifications.
