Adult Education Taster Sessions (Adult Learners’ Week)
12 June 2023 @ 10.00am - 16 June 2023 @ 3.00pm
It’s never too late with City College Plymouth
City College isn’t just for school-leavers. In addition to our full-time study programmes for 16 to 18-year-olds, City College has an extensive adult learning provision (and an excellent reputation for adult learning that goes back years!)
This safe learning environment is open to all who wish to acquire new knowledge, gain new skills and enrich their lives through education. Whether you hope to achieve new qualifications to start a new career, further your current career by upskilling, or simply try something different, we cater for all levels with flexible learning to fit around the busiest of lives.
A lot of our adult education courses are offered part-time, meaning you can study around your work or family commitments, and our part-time offer includes many of our exceptional university-level courses. The College also excels with its Access to Higher Education provision, which gives people aged 19 and over a second chance to go to university. The College has supported thousands of Access students into graduate careers.
We also offer English and maths for free if you don’t already have a GCSE in these subjects at grade 4 or above (the old grade C) and you can also retake GCSE science which is often a requirement for degrees such as teaching or nursing.
At the College we also know that learning doesn’t have to be linked to careers. We have a large selection of short courses that are purely for enjoyment or personal development. From upcycling clothes to becoming a Google expert, these courses will support you with achieving a personal goal whilst potentially providing you with a way to meet new people.
Whatever your circumstances, this event is the perfect opportunity to chat to staff in a small and informal setting about our diverse, part-time adult education provision – including our impartial careers advisors and student support teams. You can also find out about Apprenticeships which are becoming an increasingly popular way for adults to retrain.
