Biology @ STEM Lectures
12 October 2017 @ 5.45pm - 8.00pm
Intended audience: Ages 11+ and adults
Price: £2.00 per person (includes ticket, mini pizza and drinks)
Join us during Biology Week this October to discover some of the amazing biology work taking place near Plymouth. During the evening you will have the chance to hear from two fantastic biology linked organisations, ask your questions to the speakers, and also enjoy a bite to eat before the talks.
Devon Wildlife Trust will introduce STEM in conservation, looking at the Devon Beaver projects. After an absence of around 400 years, this native species is now returning to our landscape, with exciting research now being conducted on their introduction.
Cryogenics can sound a bit sci-fi but that is the work of Plymouth company Biovault. Leading the way in tissue processing and storage, hear first-hand how and why this company collects human tissue and its potential medical benefits.
Please note
- Food will be served at 5.45pm with talks starting around 6.10pm.
- Margarita pizzas will be served on the night. If you have any dietary requirements please contact STEM@cityplym.ac.uk so that alternatives can be arranged.
- For safeguarding reasons, those aged 11-17 are either required to attend with a supervising adult or are required to provide emergency contact details (which can be provided during the booking process).
