A government-backed scheme is enabling City College Plymouth to offer a wide range of free courses to adult learners earning less than £16,000* per annum.

The College offers a variety of part-time courses designed to fit around work and personal commitments. For anyone considering improving their employability prospects, taking a new career direction or indulging in a love of learning, now is a brilliant time to find out what the College has to offer.

The free courses span topics including: automotive, beauty and complementary therapies, business, computing and games development, construction, creative industries, hairdressing, health and social care, hospitality and catering, plumbing and gas, science, sport and public services, teaching and assessing, tourism, and welding and engineering.

Pauline Hands, Director of Marketing & Business Engagement at the College, said: “We are so pleased to be able to offer a suite of part-time courses that inspire adults to return to education to enhance their personal and professional skills set. Within this we are offering a significant number of free opportunities for those whose annual salary falls under £16,000. This scheme isn’t about household income, but an individual’s own salary from full, part-time or self-employment.

“The scheme will also benefit businesses looking for new ways to support their staff with their continued professional development, especially as there are courses in such a range of areas. All of our part-time courses are designed to fit around work and home life.”
