Health Short Courses
City College has developed a range of online short courses intended for health and social care professionals. These courses, which were intended to be delivered at the College, had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but the College is now able to offer these through distance learning.
Do you want to work in health care? This is an exciting new health training course, heavily influenced by strong partnerships between the College, the Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust and Livewell Southwest. The course is specifically designed to provide you with the knowledge and understanding required to work in health and social care or progress to further study. Would you like to improve your understanding of mental health with an NCFE qualification at City College Plymouth? Whether you are considering this course from a personal or professional perspective, the Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness covers anxiety, stress, phobias and mental health legislation. This qualification is for you if you wish to develop your understanding of safeguarding young people from harm, abuse and exploitation. The course will support you to develop the knowledge and understanding of the ways in which young people may be vulnerable to harm, abuse or exploitation in the workplace and/or a learning environment.
This qualification will help you to understand the personal responsibilities required to keep young people safe, the role and responsibilities of different agencies, the legal context of safeguarding and the national guidelines for recognising and reporting situations where young people may be at risk of harm, abuse and exploitation.
