Keeping You Informed
The transition from College to workplace is an important part of a young person’s life. It’s a real joy to watch our students grow in confidence and independence. They’ll still need your support for a little while yet though and we know that you want to do all you can to help them make the most of their time with us.
With consent of full-time students under the age of 18 at the start of their course, we will invite you to College twice a year to meet with their tutor to discuss their attendance, progress, overall student experience and their next steps.
Regular attendance is key to any student’s success and they’re required to be at every lesson, unless they’re ill or have another genuine reason. If absence is necessary, they’ll need to let us know in advance by calling 01752 305300 and their tutor will follow it up. It’s worth noting that some financial support schemes are based on 100% attendance.
If there are concerns about the attendance or academic progress of your son or daughter and they are under the age of 18 and have provided consent at enrolment, you will be kept informed through our disciplinary process. Of course, you’re free to make appointments to see College staff at any time to discuss your son’s/daughter’s progress, particularly if you have any concerns. If students are aged over 18 at enrolment, due to GDPR and data protection, we’ll need their permission to talk to you about any College issues.
