Talking Business – Europe: The Final Countdown

Plymouth’s future post-Brexit will be open for discussion at City College Plymouth’s latest Talking Business @ PL1.

Run in partnership with the Herald, ‘Europe: The Final Countdown’ will examine the impact that Brexit is having on the region’s economy, local businesses and the supply of labour. With talks from guest speakers Tim Jones, Chairman of Devon & Cornwall Business Council, and Donna Barnes, Director at the Talem Group, the evening promises interesting debate and good food.

Pauline Hands, Director of Corporate Relations at City College, said: “Brexit is something which affects every one of us – whether they be big or small, locally-focused or a global trader, Plymouth’s businesses will all feel the effects of the deal that the Government negotiates with Europe. With so many unanswered questions across all areas of trade, regulation and the labour market, our Talking Business @ PL1 event will give businesses the opportunity to get the latest information from industry leaders on what Brexit could mean for Plymouth.

“Our dining events are invaluable for networking and we always have an interesting mix of businesses represented. So whether you were ‘leave’ or ‘remain’ or are currently supporting a hard or soft Brexit, please come and join us for what promises to be a lively debate.”

Hosted by the BBC’s David Fitzgerald, Talking Business @ PL1 is taking place on Thursday 21 September, 5.45pm to 9.00pm. The evening of questions and good food costs £17.50 per person, including a two-course meal with wine. Book and pay online at
