Travelling to City College Plymouth for Prep Day 2021
College Prep Day is taking place this week on Friday 23 July, 10.00am to 1.00pm. This is a fun event that is all about introducing you to the College, your lecturers, and your future course mates so you will hit the ground running when you officially start in September.
With the No36 bus out of service due to a shortage of drivers, we wanted to suggest other ways of getting to the College.
Travel from the City Centre
If you are travelling from the City Centre, you can use a couple of other buses that will drop you within a ten-minute walk of the College campus.
The Citybus No14 service, which leaves the Royal Parade stop A2 at 9.33am, will drop you off at Paradise Road just one minute’s walk from the College.
Another option is the Citybus No5/5A service, which leaves stop A7 on the Royal Parade at 9.08am. This will stop at Chapel Street (don’t forget to press the button) opposite Devonport Library. From here it is a ten-minute walk to the College if you continue up Chapel Street before turning right onto Fore Street. Stay on Fore Street past Green Ark Children’s Centre until you see the College in front of you.
The Citybus 21/21A service will also follow a similar route as above if you catch the bus from the Royal Parade in the City Centre. See the timetable here.
If you are in need of bus information, please visit www.plymouthbus.co.uk or www.stagecoachbus.com. Keep an eye on up-to-date bus information via the companies’ Twitter pages.
Those travelling by train might also have wished to use the No 36, which would usually run between Plymouth Railway Station and City College Plymouth.
It is a 25-minute walk to the College from the railway station; but if walking isn’t an option, you may wish to use a local taxi service as there is no alternative bus.
Please be aware the disruption to the No36 is just for this week and will be up and running again from September, when you will also be able to travel on this bus for free on showing a valid College ID.
