Hours:
Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30 (term time). The candidate must be flexible to work events, there may be occasional weekends/evenings. Total hours per week: 37.00

Duties:

The role will support the Maths Centre for Excellence project and the wider maths and English, and Learning, Teaching and Innovation teams with a range of customer facing student focussed duties, supporting students to get the most out of their maths and English studies whilst at City College Plymouth.

 

Duties will include:

  • Attend faculty specific maths and English lessons
  • Follow up non-engagement with maths and English sessions
  • Refer and signpost students quickly and effectively, including to the maths coaching research project
  • Communicate with cross college colleagues to ensure positive student experience
  • Complete student check ins and support with highlighted critical focus areas
  • Support maths centre and in-lesson activities when needed
  • General support for maths and English learners (Facilitating full year running of the maths and English Hub, induction, enrolment, open days)
  • Attend faculty specific meetings and training where possible
  • Support in the marketing of and recruitment for maths and English courses
  • Attending Learning, Teaching and Innovation meetings and supporting with faculty work

Training:

  • Customer service practitioner apprenticeship
  • Functional skills if required

All training to be provided by City College Plymouth throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.

All components will be agreed upon before the start of the apprenticeship

Desired qualifications

  • Applicants will need to have GCSE, or equivalent, maths and English at Grade 4 (C) or above, customer service experience is desirable but not essential
