Duties:

Plymouth City Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and hardworking Customer Service Apprentice to work in both the Registration and Coroner Service.

This role provides an opportunity to develop invaluable skills that will be transferable throughout your working life, building on your existing communication, organisational and problem- solving skills.

This is a front-facing role in our Registration Office and is responsible for delivering an excellent customer facing service for routine customer enquiries, and high quality administrative and support work to a team of Registrars. The successful candidate will be handling and processing considerable amounts of manual and electronic information where accuracy, confidentiality and security are vital. The administrative tasks you will undertake will include reception duties, certificate applications and indexing, booking appointments, filing, processing Coroner’s notifications and scanning/creating legal bundles.

Applicants must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion as they will be dealing with highly sensitive information in connection with the registrations of births, deaths and stillbirths.

There is the opportunity for a number of internal training courses covering health and safety, risk assessments and other relevant areas. The successful candidate will also be given protected time to complete their NVQ assignments.

Desirable skills include previous admin experience, the ability to use your own initiative, organisation and communication skills and a strong sense of customer service.

Training:

All training will be provided by City College Plymouth in collaboration with the company themselves throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.
