Duties:

The successful applicant will spend time on our industrial sites gaining practical skills and experience.

Using sophisticated technical processes, the world leader in mineral-based specialties for industry, Imerys transforms a large variety of minerals into high value specialty products essential for its customers’ products or manufacturing processes.

Imerys Minerals Ltd based in mid Cornwall is seeking to recruit a number of Engineering Apprentices.

  • Spend a period of time working on each of our industrial sites on a rotational basis
  • Work alongside skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineers carrying out; electrical fault diagnostics, programming, configuration of electrical circuits, servicing pumps, replacing motors, pump re-sealing and all other aspects of Engineering associated with working within an industrial environment
  • Attend College to undertake a Technical Certificate
  • Attend Health and Safety training and ‘in-house’ training relevant to their roles

This role will provide the opportunity to gain lots of practical skills and experience, career development and your apprenticeship qualification.

Applicants must have a personal interest in working and developing in an industrial environment.

Training:

All training to be provided by City College Plymouth alongside the employer.

Applicants skills should include;

  • Personal interest in working and developing as an Engineer in an industrial environment
  • Good communication and organisation skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Enthusiasm, motivation and self confidence
  • Ability to work using own initiative and to be a flexible team player
  • Full driving licence (or the willingness to obtain one)
  • Punctual and dependable
