Apprentice catering engineer, who will be trained to gas safe standards on commercial gas and electrics, during the training period the successful applicant will received training in our workshops and onsite with one of our qualified engineers. Once qualified the engineer will be allocated an area of operation and will undertake a variety of calls including the installation of new commercial kitchens, re-active service calls and planned preventative maintenance visits.
All training to be provided by City College Plymouth in collaboration with the company themselves throughout the duration of the apprenticeship. An NVQ in Engineering Level 2 will be awarded to the successful candidate on completion of the apprenticeship.
Qualities and skills:
- Good practical skills.
- An aptitude for fault diagnosis.
- Technically minded.
- Keen to learn new skills of practical and technical nature.
- Good team-worker.
- Strong communication skills.
- Maths, Science, English (A-C) advantage.
Following qualification the apprentice would move to the position of service engineer, thereafter and subject to ability our previous apprentices have moved upwards through achievement to roles of installation engineer, senior engineer and technical supervisor.
