How to get started?

Our team is here to guide you step-by-step through the whole process, from deciding which standard to choose, through to your new apprentice’s first day, and everything in between!

Here’s how to get started:

Our Apprenticeships team is ready to speak to you about your business needs. We’ll help you to match the role you have in mind to the most suitable Apprenticeship standard, and will talk you through everything you need to have in place to move forward.

Once you’re ready to get started, we’ll guide you through setting up your Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) account so you can reserve your apprentice’s training funds. You may also need to register for PAYE at this point if you’re not set up for this already – we can help with that too.

If you’re recruiting a new apprentice, we’ll help advertise the vacancy, shortlist applicants from our talent pool, and support with setting up interviews. We’ll keep you updated throughout and continue until the right candidate is found. Suitable candidates will also need to undertake a skills scan to ensure that they’re eligible for the standard you have in mind before you interview them.

Once you’ve identified the right apprentice and made a formal offer of employment, you’ll be ready for them to join your team, just like any other employee. At this point, we’ll work with you to finalise all paperwork, confirm the start dates for both employment and training, and ensure all compliance steps are in place. There’s a bit of paperwork to be done at this step, but don’t worry, we’ll walk you through it every step of the way.

Once we’re all set up, the apprentice will begin their induction and training with our curriculum team. They’ll assign a dedicated Reviewing Officer as your main point of contact throughout the Apprenticeship, who’ll visit you every 12 weeks to track progress, provide feedback, and ensure everything stays on course.
