THE ATOMS FOR A GREAT FUTURE

Studying science will give you an arsenal of skills that are in demand by a variety of employers, and not just within the science industry. Problem-solving, data analysis and presentation skills are just a few of the things you will master by choosing science at City College.

Why science

The science industry is growing rapidly, particular here in Plymouth, which is home to the South West’s biggest science park. And as more and more of the world turns to scientists for solutions to the big challenges ahead, with that comes new career opportunities.

At City College, we won’t just teach you theory from a text book, you will learn to “do science”. You will develop essential scientific skills that will support you to step easily into employment; or if university is your plan, you will feel as if you have had a head start when it comes to being in the lab.

You can choose to keep your course broad and covering various disciplines, but if you already know which area of science is for you, we also offer courses that will develop more specific knowledge, such as environmental science or forensics.
