City College Plymouth believes every individual should have the opportunity to grow and flourish, regardless of background or starting point. We recognise that many individuals and families across the city face intergenerational barriers to education, skills, and employment. These barriers – often linked to deprivation, low prior attainment, limited access to opportunity, and entrenched economic inactivity – can restrict aspiration and progression across generations. In response, the College will take a whole-system, place-based approach to break these cycles, ensuring that every student, regardless of background, can access high-quality education and progress into meaningful, sustainable employment.
