City College Plymouth continues Strategic Partnership with Plymouth Albion

We are delighted to confirm that City College will continue as Plymouth Albion’s Official Performance Partner for the 2026/27 season, further strengthening a partnership that connects education, skills development, sport and community engagement across the city.

Our sponsorship will extend across Albion’s performance environment, and will include pre-match interviews, the Next Up digital feature, and our continued support of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Sam Sims.

However, our partnership with Albion goes far beyond matchday visibility, with both organisations sharing an ongoing commitment to developing talent, creating opportunities for young people, and supporting the wider Plymouth community.

Among numerous other plans, we are currently exploring opportunities for Apprenticeship-led matchday activations, providing a platform to showcase Apprenticeships, student talent, local employers and skills development opportunities.

Pauline Hands, Executive of Strategic Communications & Stakeholders, said:

“This official Performance Partnership is a natural fit between two organisations with strongly aligned values and a shared ambition to make a lasting, positive impact across Plymouth and beyond.

“By bringing together the strengths, expertise and networks of both organisations, we can open up new opportunities for people across the city – supporting education and personal development, promoting health and wellbeing, raising awareness of apprenticeships and skills pathways, and inspiring future generations.

“Sport has the power to build confidence, ambition and stronger communities. Through our partnership with Albion, we want to harness that power to benefit our students, the wider community and the city as a whole. We’re excited about what we can achieve together in the season ahead.”

James Greenacre, Commercial Director at Plymouth Albion, said:

“City College Plymouth has become a valued part of our high-performance environment, and this renewed commitment reflects the strength of the relationship that has developed over recent seasons.

“We share a passion for developing talent, creating opportunities for young people and making a positive impact within our community.

“What makes this relationship particularly exciting is the opportunity to keep developing it beyond the existing Performance Partnership. There is real potential to use Brickfields and our matchdays as a platform to showcase Apprenticeships, skills and the opportunities available to young people across the city.

“We’re excited to continue building on that foundation and exploring new ways to connect education, skills and sport through activations that benefit both organisations and the wider Plymouth community.”
