Science beyond the textbook
What does it take to investigate a crime scene, understand the human body or discover what really goes into fuelling sporting performance?
Exploring Science gives school pupils the chance to find out through an action-packed day of practical science, experiments and discovery.
Pupils rotate through five interactive 45-minute workshops, getting hands-on with different areas of science and experiencing specialist facilities at the College.

From fingerprints and anatomy to sports performance, every workshop is designed to get pupils investigating and thinking about where science could take them.
Sports Science
Discover the science behind sporting performance and nutrition before making an energy drink.
Sports Injury
Explore how sports professionals assess and respond to injuries through practical massage and analysis activities.
Science for All
Put science into action with a hands-on experiment, investigating, testing and discovering.
Forensic Science
Become a forensic investigator and discover how fingerprints can provide vital evidence.
Healthcare Science
Explore human anatomy using the Anatomage Table in incredible detail.

Good to know
Places
Places are limited to 20 pupils per school. School staff must accompany and support pupils throughout the workshops.
Parking
Parking is available on site and will be free.
What to wear
Pupils should wear comfortable clothing and sensible, closed-in shoes suitable for practical activities.
Photography
Our team will take photographs and video footage throughout Exploring Science to celebrate the day and include your school on social media. Photo consent permissions will be addressed prior to the event.
Lunch
Lunch will be provided for participating pupils and staff; further details will be provided upon booking confirmation.
